THE RENAISSANCE MAN

You don't have to go to Italia to know Michelangelo. He and his sculptures (DAVID, Pieta), Fresco paintings (Sistine Chapel and the Creation of Adam), architecture (st. Peter's Basilica) and spirit made a big impact on the development of Western art as we know it today.
Considered to be the greatest living artist during his lifetime, he has since also been described as one of the greatest artists of all time.

In his lifetime he was o f people knew how hard I worked to get my mastery, it wouldn't seem so wonderful at all.
Read more at: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/m/michelangelo.html ften called Il Divino ("the divine one"). One of the qualities most admired by his contemporaries was his terribilità, a sense of awe-inspiring grandeur.

He was so passionate for creating that he only ate and slept when was necessary.

He was a great poet and very devoted to God.
He was a big lover for life, nature and the beauty of (male) people which he preferred expressing in marble, or liked tp paint it so precise that it looked like it was sculptured.
